Why Mission Bridge Archive exists

I'm Tyler, a BYU student. Mission Bridge Archive started because I kept watching it happen to people close to me: a friend would come home from their mission, and within days — sometimes hours — the email account the mission had given them was gone. Locked, wiped, handed off to the next missionary. Every weekly update they'd sent home. Every photo. Every voice memo. All of it had lived in that one inbox, and nobody had warned them it would disappear.

By the time most families realize what happened, it's already too late to do anything about it. There's no export button, no thirty-day grace period, no customer support line to call. It's just gone — and it's usually the missionary's own mom or dad who finds out first, scrolling back through an account that no longer opens.

I didn't think that should be how it works. A mission is one of the most defining two years of someone's life — and the record of it shouldn't depend on a family remembering to manually save every single email before an account they don't control gets shut off without notice.

So I built Mission Bridge Archive to do the one thing that actually solves it: capture everything the moment it's sent, automatically, so there's nothing left to remember and nothing left to lose.
